^^^Sounds about right. Are these the last two floors before the setback?Or are there two more after this? I cant wait anymore

I think the next two floors. It should be right below Liberty Plaza's roof height when it happens.

With the last few floors especially, as this photo shows well, T4 is finally developing some soar and slenderness in its profile. This is quite satisfying to see after all the kvetching about the (unfinished) tower being too "squat" or "stumpy looking". By the end of the year, as we get into the trapezoid floors and it surpasses One Liberty Plaza, I think nobody will be able to say that anymore.

One World Trade had that effect too. Once it got to the height of 7 WTC it looked slender. The other two towers will most likely have the same effect. Bah! I say to complainers. :P

I think you're right. Personally I'm hoping for at least two core jumps, meaning four more floors, before the winter weather hits. We have to expect, though, that there will be at least a few days' delay as they start the trapezoid sections, assuming that the new floor plan will require some adjustments to their work process.

NYC Human Resources Takes 582,000 SF at 4 WTC

http://cdn.globest.com/media/newspics/nyc_4wtc_construction.jpg

By Jacqueline Hlavenka
October 7, 2011

The New York City Human Resources Administration will be consolidating and relocating its executive and administrative staff to 4 World Trade Center in early 2015, city officials confirm to GlobeSt.com. A source close to the deal but not affiliated with the HRA says the NYC HRA will take 582,000 square feet on floors 22 to 35 in the 2.3-million-square-foot tower, making it the second largest government tenant here.

Connie Ress, deputy commissioner for communications and marketing at the NYC HRA, tells GlobeSt.com that the HRA will move from its three current locations at 180 Water St., 2 Washington St. and 250 Church St. “It was communicated to all of our staff late yesterday,” she says, noting that the move will not affect the HRA’s 75 care sites throughout the five boroughs.

“We are a very large agency, and all of our frontline staff help people in all of those sites. This move is simply the executive and administrative staff.” The source says the HRA's three current office locations total approximately 700,000 square feet about 3,000 employees will be making the move to 4 WTC.

Then they should call it "The 1% Trade Center" since all the 1% of the country with all the $$$ would be there.

JayPro
Oct 10, 2011, 5:26 PM
Using Woolworth as a guide (792'?):
150G is slightly further back than her (practically next to 1LP in that picture); but as you can see, the cranes are quite a bit taller.
Therefore as I see it, the cranes are almost definitely at over 800' and the structure itself at *maybe* 735-40'.. Now that may be a stretch on my part...but I think I can safely call the structure at over 700'.
Either way, we haven't reached the setback where the trapezoidal dimension starts yet; and I'm not sure at how many feet up that happens.

I agree with you there. Just look at all the tenants the original Towers had. Though I do feel that those companies probably will not want to work there after what happened. Sure you want to feel safe in the new buildings but the loss of life there was just unbearable and many businesses don't see the Trade Center like everyone else saw it as it was before 9/11. The Port Authority and Silverstein are very lucky to have almost all of Tower 1 leased, Tower 7 fully occupied, and Tower 4 getting in the game as well. I really felt no one would ever want to work there again but I always talk to my neighbor, who was an electrician at the Trade Center for 20 years, he misses it everyday. I guess even some companies like Conde Nast can't let good office space go to waste and it is a good location. In time perhaps tenants like BofA, Chase, HSBC, American Express, etc will want to lease space there. The original Towers didn't gain major tenants until the 80's and 90's. We can't always expect tenants to pre-lease, even though the that's what the Port Authority wants otherwise Towers 2 & 3 would get built to full height with no questions asked. In time we will eventually get back what we lost that day. 10 years is a long time but now that things are going smoothly the next 10 years will be worth watching as all construction is finished and we will finally have a World Trade Center again.

NYC to 4 WTC still not certain

By STEVE CUOZZO
October 10, 2011

New details of a lease between the city’s Human Resources Administration and Silverstein Properties at 4 World Trade Center might not be the final word.

As reported by GlobeSt.com, HRA is taking 582,000 square feet in the 2.2 million square-foot tower now rising. It marked the first time the city has spelled out specifics of a deal announced nearly five years ago -- namely, which agency would move to 4 WTC and on which floors (22-35).

But that could still change if a private-sector tenant comes along -- which depends on a perplexing leasing market. But as Post City Hall Bureau Chief David Seifman reported last spring, Larry Silverstein believes a private-sector tenant might yet want the city’s intended space at 4 WTC -- in which case “the city’s obligation may not be necessary,” the developer said at the time.

The tower won’t be finished for at least two more years. The Port Authority is taking 800,000 square feet for its headquarters. Sources said yesterday that while the door remains open for a private-sector tenant, the city needed to start making plans. The lease also helps stabilize the project for Silverstein, who has yet to issue Liberty Bonds.

The Building has a total of 1,800,000 Sq Ft of office space. So lets put my skills into use, concidering IF NYHRA does indeed take space in Tower 4. The Port Authority of NY and NJ is taking up 600,766 Sq Ft of office space. The City of NY is taking up 581,642 Sq Ft. Just recently the NYHRA is planning to take 582,000 Sq Ft. The total amount taken is 1,764,408 Sq Ft. Now to find the percent of space taken up in the tower you multiply the space taken by 100 and put a variable that is multiplied by the space the tower has. You end up dividing 176,440,800 by 1,800,000 and you get 98.0. So looks like come 2013 this tower will be full, or 98% full. Just hope we can get HALF of this luck with a major company for Towers 2 and 3.

Port, Silverstein say W.T.C. construction is on track

October 19, 2011
BY ALINE REYNOLDS

Malcolm Williams, construction manager for Silverstein Properties, the developer for Towers Two, Three and Four, said Tower Four is the farthest along among the W.T.C. buildings, with over 60 percent of the construction work already completed.

“We’re starting to see the building taking the shape in the skyline of New York City,” said Williams.

The building’s steel skeleton is 54 stories high, and its below-grade mechanical system is 90 percent complete. The building will be finished in late 2013.

Silverstein Bond Offer Advances

By ELIOT BROWN
October 21, 2011

Developer Larry Silverstein and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are planning to issue about $1.3 billion in bonds in the first half of November, according to a person familiar with the matter, a move that comes after a similar planned sale ran into repeated snags.

The financing is necessary for Mr. Silverstein to fund the continued construction of 4 World Trade Center, one of two towers rising on the Ground Zero site that has now reached a height of 56 stories.

Anybody have something close to a semi-accurate height on this baby as of... currently? From this photo it looks like steel is up to or surpassing 123 Washington (aka the "W"); and from some of Carlos' great pix over on the One WTC thread, it looks as if it's nearing or at the height of 7 WTC.

So if The W is 631 ft. and 7 is 751 ft... where are we at here? If this understated beauty is getting ready to pass up 7... well that's just pretty damn awesome in my book!

It'll pass both 7 and Liberty Plaza around the same time. We're very close now.

Welcome

Thank you Pico... it feels good to actually start using my voice here. I used to come to this site just to look at the diagrams and play around with the search tool to look at different buildings in various cities and countries. But after this recent 9/11 anniversary... and seeing the mighty ONE in the background of some of the TV coverage... I decided to google some recent hi-rez pics... and that of course led me here to the forums.

As I stated over on the "One WTC" thread, I've spent the last several weeks reading page after page of that thread. My god what a fascinating journey that building... ney... the whole WTC site has been on! And I, as I'm sure everybody else is... can't wait to see 4 dominate over Liberty Plaza and 7.

But you may want to hold off on "liking" me until after I've voiced my opinions over on the 2 WTC this weekend. I think there's something horribly wrong with the top of that incredible building... and I just can't wait to express it and see what the opinions of others may be.

World Trade Center Bond Yields Lowered as Investors Seek Safety

November 01, 2011
By Martin Z. Braun

Developer Larry Silverstein, buoyed by investor demand for the safest assets, sold $1.23 billion of tax-exempt bonds to help finance construction of 4 World Trade Center at lower yields than forecast.

Demand for the World Trade Center issue outpaced supply by as much as 8-to-1, said Bramlage, who earlier today said Silverstein might have to raise yields to attract investors.
