Well it looks the smallest from this angle since this is the narrow side, also the spires can't really be seen well.

The top floors are unoccupied. They're only there because the geometry of the building allows for them without requiring a whole lot of extra strength. In fact, one could argue that the top 100 meters or so are non-structural. But even without them, the Burj would still be the tallest building, of course.

I've been pondering the phenomenal height of this tower lately on my way around town in rush hour traffic.

Here in Houston, the Williams Tower is easily visible from anywhere in the southwest part of town. It's the most noticeable thing on the horizon from 59 and the beltway, 8 miles away. Williams Tower is a mere 274.6m tall. The Burj is almost 3.5 times taller! It boggles my mind how HUGE this thing really is.

I'm going to take time to take some pictures of Williams Tower from around town and Photoshop the Burj in there, so I can get a true sense of the enormity of the building.

Not sure if it's been asked before, but is the building being opened in phases? Or will they open the entire thing at once?

Hi all.

Another great round of shots Imre. The paintings look cool.

Nice to see the cladding coming along now that the steelwork is done.
