Yup, The Chairman of Galiviston Enterprises bought the 2 story penthouse for 41,900,000 as his Downtown Residence, him real residence is in Irvington, a huge mansion, where mostly his 13 year old son lives in.

Of Course all this money is nothing compared to the money he has. :)

Here are some Updates/Skyline Shots

I havent posted a shot of the Skyline from the Northeast, The Skyline looks like a tall mountian from this angle. This View will probably be the rooftop of a Tenament, in the Future Jefferson District.

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/3946/apicnj0.jpg

Apperantly Callahan Point was built from 1985 - 1989, and later expanded in 1996, only to be haulted by the (here we go again) Worldwide Financial Crisis. The Smaller Tower is going to open very soon, but since Lloyd International is recovering the taller tower is on-hold

I agree, it does sound cool.

nice Staunton Square pics! You oughta create a website and make your textures (signs, facades, roads) available. While people flock to it, you can also showoff your diagram while visitors are there :D

I know I would download those textures in an instant.

I wouldnt know where to put them though, Its not that hard to make skins, if you look at my city the textures are just patterns, it only takes a few mins with paint.

Although, I'm probably saying this cause I draw diagrams

Amazing, escpecially that east view of Callahan Square. Maybe you could build some sports stadiums?

Patrick
Jul 21, 2006, 7:04 AM
A Stadium is defantly on the list, except I have not idea where I would put it :( There isnt a Stadium District Created yet, but.... I think this is where the most likely spot would be for a baseball field, and arena would go in future midtown/galleria.

Although this space might be used for tenaments...
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2989/apic6rx8.jpg

Here is something new: Jefferson Heights/Jefferson. Jefferson Heights is what is in the picture so far, a cluster of highrise middle-class apartment towers. Jefferson will be nearby but will have tenaments and lower-class residential buildings, simular to someparts of Harlem and The Bronx.

My computer will probably blow when I try and upload the city :haha:

Let me explain the Worldwide Financial Crisis.

The Worldwide Financial Crisis started on May 7th 1999, corporate scandals, and stock market crashes happed around the world. The Crisis lasted for 4 days, fears rose such as "the end of the world" or "world war 3"

On day 3 businesses where in ruins, riots destroyed the city, looting went crazy. Riots destroyed Stuanton Square. Billions across the world lost their jobs. The Stock Exchanges across the world where vacant.

STAUNTON, NEW JERSEY, MAY 9TH, 1999 (you can see some buildings havent been built yet like the 21st Century Tower)
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/1610/apic2bw0.jpg

By day 4 things recovered, no one knows exactly what caused billions in damage, hundreds in deaths, millions in job losses and the biggest stock market crash in history.

Imagine, if the Crisis did start World War 3,

A non photo request would be to see a shorter neighbourhood across the river from downtown, behind the Jefferson Park co-ops, those skyscrapers in Jefferson Park would make a great Gold Coast...

Just an observation. ;)

Patrick

I meant any photo requests or buildings with emporis pages. :)

And those towers will only line parts of the coast, Industry and some suburbia is going behind those towers :)

I need your guys opinion. I recladed the JC Summit Tower, is it better or worse?

The New Reclad causes the nearby Stuanton Financial Center to be recladded, because they will look too simular..

Downtown is coming to a close, (buildings are getting lower, we are getting closer to suburbia)

To answer your question, I think the towers look better now. Nice job!

Patrick
Jul 26, 2006, 9:16 PM
Hmm I've been thinking about that. Here are my guesses

City Population - Stuanton New Jersey
2,786,916

Metro Population - Stuanton-Arlington-Irvingdale-Newport Metropolitan Area
12,874,003

I didnt want the city to be larger than Chicago, LA, or New York, I was going to put it in the 3 millions but thats too much, plus look at Chicago, more skyscrapers than LA but less people.

Stuanton was once the thrid largest city in the USA, until the 1999 Worldwide Financial Crisis.

Staunton has a simular population to Chicago's but has, smaller city pop, larger meto pop.

Holy Fricken Jesus Christ. Those are amazing. And, if possible, could you turn off the big black outlines on the buildings? Those white outlines shouldn't happen if you have the shadows on, and if you do have the shadows on, you can just make the shadows slightly darker and it usually fixes the problem as well as bring out more depth.

Totally amazing.

^ Stuck them together, whats change field of view?

CGII
Jul 27, 2006, 9:56 PM
Field of view would determine the angle at which you can see everything. Standard field of view is 35 degrees, and I think you can only change field of view in the full version. If field of view was 50 degrees, you'd have peripheral vision and can see everything from your extreme left to your extreme right, and if field of view were 100 degrees, you'd get an error message because I have no idea what that would look like.

Ok..regarding the Garden State Building: How does one jump from 900 feet high and live?

The building has large setbacks and the observation floor is on the second to last setback. So if you jump from the 76th floor, you would most likley land on the 74th floor's roof. Now 47 people probably stopped at the next setback, then wanted to live, the others got injured on the 4th to last setback which is 7 stories high then stop.

Finally and update! Wow its been slow around here, where is everybody? :)

Anyways, 1 Stuanton Square has always been one of my favorite buildings. 1 Staunton Square is like 1 and 2 Times Square, a tall centerpiece building covered with tall billboards.

The Building was added around June 15th when Stuanton Square was forming, with buildings like the JC Summit and N Hotels building. You can see it on the bottom of this picture
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/4753/ghj9ba.jpg

Stuanton Square, still under development, 1 Staunton Square was redone and became the way it was. The Billboards freatured JC Summit, Staunton Airlines, The Exodus: The Movie, John Harrington Fashion, and Stuanton Vision
http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/7641/ghj3co.jpg

There was also a large portion to the left side of the building with two huge Bentswell International as seen in this picture. As you can see the 21st Century Tower isnt textured yet and there is no Callahan Park.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3458/ghj3jy.jpg

The City really developed after Staunton Square.

For a few days now I've been wanting to change the billboards for this tower (of example The Exodus came out July 12th), I eventually redid the whole tower, but in real life it just got a renovation. The Older billboards are on the sides of the building now.
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/1442/apic2tw5.jpg

The New Billboards are larger. They are Galviston Enterprises, Olympus International, Abicruble & Flintch and Panoramic

If you havent noriced are based on: Olympus America, Ambocrombie & Fintch, and Panosonic, which has SNN (Staunton News Network) on it based on CNN.

Look its the Galviston Enterprises World HQ

I finally got a new computer, my old one was Really slow, I couldnt move around Staunton without everything becomeing wireframe. The Graphics Card was also dated (2002) My new computer is great, Stuanton runs amazingly faster, I can move around with the textures staying in place :)

This makes construction a lot easier. I've already added some new things like:

North Stuanton Square
There has always been a North Stuanton Square, but it wasnt much really. Remember there was that funky Museum and a small pond? I removed the park and moved the Museum to McAurthur Hill.

In This Picture the Museum's site has a new tall hotel, The Milton Staunton Square Hotel, (yes Milton/Hilton) Also Five Staunton Square (center) was recladded and has more billboards, the big black building (top) I just pasted a bill billboard on the top of the tower :) And 1 Staunton Square now has a second face, with all the original billboards :D
http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/267/ghjor6.jpg

In this picture, The Staunton Financial Center now has huge billboards on the bottom of the tower, Olympus International has now leased 53% of the building.

McArthur Hill

Shot of the new spot for the museum, it now has a nice plaza.

Also this has been here for a while, I just havent shown any pictures of McArthur Hill.

And a Skyline Shot.

That happens to me, simply because Sun City is so big. :haha:

Here too. When I only have SketchUp running and not Photoshop and Explorer, which is not the case when I'm building, I can move around City City with the textures going coloured, but not losing them to wireframe. wireframe happens when a bunch of stuff is running.

Staunton Inner City Tunnel Opens after 10 years
Back on February 17th 1996, the Staunton Inner City Tunnel collapsed around 2am destroying abandoned older buildings over the tunnel. Luckily there was no one under the collapse zone, nearby cars crashed, 10 where injured. It took 10 years to reopen the tunnel, but many still think it is unsafe.

Ok What happened was I replaced that freeway starting after the bridge, it looked too tall and was to large. I replaced the freeway with a better looking tunnel, this makes building some midrise buildings over the tunnel.

Pat, your city still blows me away. Absolutely.

Some ideas of what you can do now.
1. Animate your city, throw in some model cars or something. People too (does anyone else notice that the person they originally throw in is 3m tall?). Oh, how about street cars or cruise liners?

2. Maybe go ahead some years? You know, this is how the city is now in 2015... Start throwing in some near-future tech?

This picture makes me want to cry. It's just so beautiful.

Top notch work. So long as the computer can still handle it, I'd start moving out of the CBD and on surrounding entertainment, lofts, or arts districts.

I'd love to do that, I started before too, by adding streetlights, but after a while the city becomes extremply slow. :(

Naw, the City would defantly stay in 2006, and will just take place in the present. By 2015, I bet Staunton would be in ruins, who knows.....

I'm already in a lofts/arts district, Atlantic Park, if you see the skyline shot, the buildings are getting lower and lower to the left.

I did do a photoshopped nightime picture a while ago, here it is

New Building:Harriott Marquess - Staunton Square
Based on the Marriott Marquis Times Square, except less, umm ugly ;) The building replaced the Cosmopolitan Records Tower, (which now never existed in the Staunton Universe)

Next door, was the Staunton VISION Plaza, now an emply lot for The New Cosmopolitan Records Tower I dont have any idea what it will look like yet though. Staunton VISTION Plaza was moved to Torrington:
