You're missing the point. He took a copyrighted drawing without permission, placed in a photo, and claimed it to be his own new rendering. That's what I'm peeved about.

Anyway, carry on...

Can you prove that it was your drawing that was used? I see some similiarities, but maybe it is only because it is of the same building.

Not to drag it on, but answering your questions...

-Yes, because of the hourglass curve of the core toward the top. I specifically put that there because I knew the core became thinner, but it's not accurate by any means, not to mention the inner structural bracing above it.

-No, I'm not playing the role, but I put effort into my drawings, and I don't appreciate someone ripping them off and claiming them as their own work (same goes for mp3 sharing, IMO)

-Any diagram posted on this site is copyrighted, and legal action can follow for anyone who steals one of them.

I won't go any further than this. It should be blatantly easy to understand that the person who created these images can't respect other people's hard work and follow certain rules.

Why is it that foundation construction in Asia seems to always involve a round hole, as opposed to western foundation construction in which the foundation pit is basically the same shape as the building. Does it have something to do with a circular wall extending an equal outward force in all directions and is therefore stronger?

Fabb
Mar 24, 2005, 7:40 AM
Interesting theory.
Although I know only three of them in Asia (US7, SWFC and 2IFC). And nothing that tall has been built oustide Asia in a long, long time.

No, I don't. This is the first supertall construction I watch. The yard seems very busy now after mounths of (visually) uncertain action. I remember dchen predicted that when construction would start, the building will rise quickly.
