Street space around fourth tower is basically complete and like opening up for pedestrians soon. Fifth tower is inching closer and closer to being topped out but still a handful more floors to go. Definitely feeling very tall and skinny.

The crown / setbacks on that 4th tower makes it look taller than it is.

So Google Earth has updated their 3D imaging of the lower mainland and we have some new heights for towers, Station Square being one of the most interesting.

Tower 1 (4688 Kingsway): 126.5m
Tower 2 (6050 Silver Dr.): 166.2m
Tower 3 (6098 Kingsborough): 135.1m

They are expanding the patio space of Earls, Dollar Restaurant and Cactus Club Cafe by having taken out all parking along Silver Drive in front of the restaurants.

That would be nice. Silver Dr is a private road anyway so they can just do it.

I bet it's just temporary but it still adds a lot of new patio space for this summer. I don't mind it either as it definitely livens up the entire area.

I would prefer if they could, wherever possible, make the existing and any new "mall streets" pedestrian only with provisions to getting to underground parking of course. You could then expand patios and make it more of a plaza atmosphere rather then having to watch people drive around looking for parking.

Signs are up for a JJ Beans and a Japanese restaurant to occupy two of the Tower 4 podium spaces. That tower must be ready for move-in, as all landscaping has been completed and they even resurfaced much of McKay Avenue which was badly needed. At the same time Tower 5 is very close to being topped out.

I just looked up the site plan (pdf). It shows one of the spots still available in 'restaurant row'. Also the small Starbucks that used to be on Kingsway (next to the TD Bank) has been replaced by CoCo Bubble Tea. I thought it was odd that there were two Sbux in Station Square.

Under tower 4 they list (facing Silver Drive) JJ Bean, Tendon Kohaku, two spots that just say leased, two still available and then Kokoro Mazesoba. The McKay side has three available spots (at either end) and Discovery Centre taking most of the spaces.

All the spaces under tower 5 are listed as still available.
