Hmm, people seem to say this all the time but aren't all of our "traditional" shopping streets just "outdoor malls"? Alberni/Robson, Robson/Denman, Yaletown, Main/Kingsway/Broadway, that sort of thing. They seem to all be doing fine. And judging by malls like Capilano Mall, International Village (Tinseltown), Lougheed Mall, and basically any mall other than Metrotown or Park Royal I'm actually not entirely sure if indoor malls work in Vancouver anymore.
