Are people optimistic about the new stadium? - yes. For anyone that has been in the old stadium and had to walk around with their hand over thier beer so some mysterious "fluid" from the stands above didn't drip into it, or wade through ankle deep slime in the concourses, or sit in your seat for 20 minutes after the game waiting for the crowd to funnel through exits that wouldn't pass fire code in the developing world.....its pretty easy to be optimistic about a new facility (that, incidentally, will be fantastic).

Good design doesn't cost money, but good design typcially doesn't call for materials that you can go pick up at Rona. Good design typcially involves lots of custom fabrication and one-off material uses which does tend to be expensive.
