Does it also look like boxes for seats or lights in the East upper section as well?

Looks like it could be the forms for the stairs (totally guessing here)?

They are making quick progress on the north end roof trusses and have restarted placing the west side trusses.

They're forming stairs in the east upper level. Precast panels only come with every second stair, if you will. Basically where people walk down the row to their seat. They have to frame and pour in place for every second step. Will be like that throughout the stadium. Hopefully they get the handrails correct! Contractor at IGF had to waste EVERY railing in the stadium. Didn't adhere to building codes. They were (and might still be) for sale on Kijiji.

You can see on the lower east side they've poured a bunch of rows and steps. The lower level is entirely cast in place, as they have covered at the lower NW corner. They pour a smooth, sloped structural floor. They then pour the flat steps and rows to walk on.

You can see the step forms in this picture - in this case in lower bowl.

Ya just like that. And the concrete the rail is bolted to looks to be cast in place as well. But the seam adjacent to the step is looking a little bit more like precast. Etiher way.

A bit of a — question here: Will the concrete forms/stairs be painted or treated in any way/shape/form? (As opposed to what we see here.)

This is a more realistic view of the stadium from downtown - no telephoto

Probably not. Just your basic concrete with broom finish for grip on the feet.

At IGF on the concrete ring around the stadium at field level.....it was concrete color but is now a gold color. Is that just some colored fabric sheet draped over or is there some other permanent cover/paint on it?

really doubt they would paint the steps/stands but the concrete ring around the stadium at field level could certainly use something.....green padding likely in the endzones.

It's a fabric covering. They've changed it out at least once for Womens World Cup. Or just put it over top of the Bomber/Bison one. There is padding behind some of it, but I don't think everywhere. For sure in the end zones. And that's one of my beefs on aesthetics. It looks really ugly and sloppy. There's all kind of creases and folds, likely due to the padding not aligning properly.

^ I prefer those tarps to the hideous paint-on-concrete that they used at CanadInns. It always deteriorated quickly and looked like —.

That said, they could have done a better job than the peanut butter colour one with randomly placed Bomber/Bison logos. The ones they used for the WWC and Grey Cup looked sharp.

Hey guys, give me some corroboration here: Are crews placing the 'translucent' panels atop of the east side trusses? They seem rather opaque to me, . . . or at least at this moment.

They're sure banging things up there though!

Thanks.

I wish a developer would knock down the entire empire hotel lot as well as the Albert street retail section and have a full street front retail development on all four sides with maybe 2 towers in the middle (mixed use). Then from this view it wouldn't only be SGI on the right . I am loving this shot so much!!!

The fabric roof goes over top all of those opaque metal panels that are up there now, none of the ETFE roof material goes up until spring. If you look at this rendering, the potions of metal panels that already up are not translucent.

All of the other renderings I've seen show that northeast end section as fabric covered without underlying metal sheeting. Slight change in design I wonder?

I would imagine that the metal panels are required to support the snow load on the lower portions of the roof where the snow would tend to pile up. Otherwise, if it was just fabric alone the weight of the snow would rip, or collapse, the fabric.
