Fall Colors in Portland

This time last year I was all set to go to The University of Alabama to study advertising, setting my life on a path I did not want to follow. I got my parents to let me take a semester off to decide what I really wanted to do with my life. During that time I kept reading about Portland, OR in magazines and since I was a child I have always felt drawn to the Northwest. I decided to apply to PSU to study architecture, which is what I really wanted to study in the first place. I thought it would be a bad idea to go out there without seeing it first so I managed to convince my dad to go to Portland despite him being totally against the idea of me going to there. To this day I still don't know how I was able to convince him to let me go that far from home, but I am very thankful that I will finally be leaving Florida and its two seasons of hot and hotter.

I took these on my trip to Portland in November 2008. I really enjoyed Portland and the cold weather was a pleasant change from the hot rain in Florida. I hope the pictures are good since it was raining and my camera was cracked in half the entire time. I will be buying a new one before I move.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures.

Wow!

Looks like some very good pictures, even though your cam was 'broken in half' the entire time.

It looks like you enjoyed the place and the fall colours are especially beautiful.

I hope you enjoy Portland ,OR!

Nice photos! I must say I'm a little jealous that you get to enjoy the Pac NW for the next few years. I think it would be a sweet place to live. Good luck with school.

Good story and Pics.

Portland, Or is not dissimilar to Melbourne, Australia. Which reminds me to get my act together and post some Australian pics

Good work!

Great pictures and good luck on your future work. I switched into architecture after a "deciding" semester as well long ago. Don't regret it at all.

Enjoy studying architecture at PSU. I love the South Park Blocks...great asset for a downtown school environment wise. How did your Dad enjoy the trip?
