I'm actually a bit surprised by some of the comments here. Even if you think these smaller local business are being run by parasitic owners, the flip side of this is a street where every other shop is BigBoxRetailerXYZ. I'm under the impression that most of us here would consider that to be a net loss to the cultural fabric of the city.
