If the poor and oppressed in the United States allied for a cause, think of how they could advance their respective agendas. When they fight among themselves, they lose badly. Critical mass is necessary for societal change.

Yes, but when one tries to deny race as a factor to focus solely on class, that is actually divisive. A broad-based, intersectional approach takes it all into account rather than saying "class trumps race and that's what we should focus on".
