I may be mistaken, but doesn't Harvard own that site and intended it to be one of their next towers? Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. I think the intention was to do something with the site early last decade but the economic slowdown put a delay to that plan. There is also a cute 3 story brick building just around the corner on the East side of Cornwall that is vacant. It's a bummer because any active uses in those spots would do a lot to bridge the gap between East and West downtown.

I think that block would be an amazing location for a new multi-story central library branch. Have something that opens well to the street like their proposed plan for a few years ago. Build a big enough space to do some of the things modern libraries do better than old ones. Put in a good theatre. It would keep the library on the park. I'm sure if Harvard wanted to put residential or commercial above, it could have a separate entrance not accessible from the library space.

The downtown is a jack o'lantern a week after Halloween -- holes everywhere and just getting worse. I don't see anything from the city trying to change that, other than telling the crowns they won't be issued a permit to build anywhere else in the city so just fix their current buildings.

According to their website, there will be phase one on the Lewvan side, phase 2 on the west side and then a hotel between WBM and phase 2. Looks like retail density.

Is the professional retail on the south side of Parliament still mostly empty? The sign says Harbour Landing Commercial Campus. I think only two or three storefronts are occupied. (Overbuilding retail?)

There's some activity, but yeah, it's mostly empty. In theory, it's a nice set-up for a small business/start-up type company, but there aren't a lot out there in Regina right now.

Anyone know what is going in the old Tartan curling club? It looks like turf has been installed in the old curling area with work still being done in the lobby/upstairs. Also looks like possibly a new door has been added that goes directly into the turfed area by the main door.

The Humane Society is asking to have 4900 Parliament Ave in Harbour Landing rezoned. Looks like that is east of the WBM and west of the Coop.
