Build a big enough space to do some of the things modern libraries do better than old ones. Put in a good theatre. It would keep the library on the park. I'm sure if Harvard wanted to put residential or commercial above, it could have a separate entrance not accessible from the library space.

The downtown is a jack o'lantern a week after Halloween -- holes everywhere and just getting worse. I don't see anything from the city trying to change that, other than telling the crowns they won't be issued a permit to build anywhere else in the city so just fix their current buildings.
