I believe the height they're at max is at 115'. The area is roughly a conditional maximum of 150', without Viewcone 22.

Doubt it - but I thought the model and renderings show Onyx as tall as the VanCity Building.

From Yaletown BIA twitter:

A big thank for the @ParkBoard for fixing the benches and the lamp posts, reinstalling the lion fountain, and allowing to there be festival lights at #Yaletown Helmcken Park. May everyone's day be merry & bright! The neighbourhood thanks you!

Does anyone know what they are planning along Georgia street? They have the orange construction fencing around the trees, assuming they are enclosing that plaza?

The earlier posts suggested the opposite - opening it up by removing that big concrete frame that doesn't actually perform any practical function.

Currently looks like where they're doing rebar prep work but nothing imminent until they finish the new tower I think.

Yeah, saw some small bits of rebar in the fenced area on Georgia
- they look sort of "planter" sized, nothing big.

Thanks.
That's an impressive wall.
I hope there's a few openings hidden behind the wooden forms.

There's an interesting proposal for the Arts and Crafts Building on Seymour Street. There's an application to convert it from office to a 36 room hotel.

That would be great! Save the building, and add hotel guests to the area.

It seems they're aiming for restaurants in the CRUs as well:

It has a nice facade - good to see a reno of it.

As a side note, remember the awesome SAM the Record Man sign on the building next door?
Big bold red sign, mounted away from the facade.

Courier on 1166 West Pender. What's up with all these wood slat canopy entrances? Seems like it's been done to death recently.

Is 1166 West Pender not able to go any higher?

The location looks as if it should be somewhat protected from / outside of viewcones.

Edit, answered my own question.

This site is permitted up to 550ft on one half, and 500ft on the other.

At 387ft. this proposal is a disappointment.

So bizarre how other projects try their best to maximize the view cone limits (1133 Melville even reluctantly having its height reduced), yet other projects on sites that do allow higher buildings don’t take advantage on this...

Unless there is another factor at play? Limited by park shadowing??
