So is that a pedestrian walkway that appears to curve through the entire site? Anyone know what it is connecting? Seems pretty odd.

Will the new towers in that Winnipeg proposal affect the skyline that much? Would love to see a "future skylines" including them... I believe most of the future Winnipeg renders showed mostly just skyhouse (or whatever that tower is called).

It's part of the above-grade skywalk network. It will essentially provide a direct link between the main east-west corridor with the RBC Convention Centre. (There already is one but it involves some indirect doglegs.) It's a bit like being on the PATH or +15 systems in other cities; it's essential for any Class A tower.

Not dramatically IMO. It'll be noticeable but it won't redefine the skyline or anything like that. You'll see it mainly looking from the west (driving into downtown on Portage, or landing from the south at YWG). SkyCity would have way more of an impact because of its height. It should be fairly visible from Portage Avenue.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the info.

New YMCA and Library for Vaughans new Downtown. Will have some office space up top too when finished.

It will be beside the new YRT bus terminal for the subway extension, which is currently part of the walmart parking lot. I believe there is a large public parking garage getting built behind it too.

I'm not the biggest fan of the look of the project either but I can only applaud the concept behind it. This building, whose structure is made out of wood, is basically made up of 560 s.f. modules which can be configured in 40 different floor plans, according to the needs of the clients. It is thus possible for the promoter to personnalize the units from a loft to a 6 1/2 while keeping the prices very affordable, thus encouraging families to live downtown. I mean, 248 400$ + taxes for a 1327 s.f. 5 1/2 is very, very affordable, even for Quebec City!!!

Now that bottom one I like, it's simple and sleek. Now knowing that top one will be a wood structure makes me like it even less. I don't care what developers say about sound proofing technology that goes into modern wood structures, they don't provide the same sort of noise dampening you get with concrete.

lol its not like its difficult to put the cars on a seperate layer in photoshop to get them in front of the building... that is just a really, really lazy job.

Garbage inspired by garbage. If only it were true Kirshenblatt and Korman were out on the BC coast. Save Toronto alot of pain. They'd fit well outvthere too.

They all belong on Miami beach not in urban environments.

I'd have to agree. On their own they look good, but somehow they don't seem appropriate for an urban setting.

Looks like they're going to have a linear plaza (with retail?) wrapping around that Mississauga project. I would put another row of trees though, to create an even stronger buffer between the pedestrian zone and the very wide streets in Mississauga.

Those massive mall parking lots need to be redeveloped. Not enough demand at this point I guess. When's Mississauga getting a rapid transit line? That would get development rolling on the mall there, like it has here at Metro Vancouver malls.

The mall apparently is doing fine. Don't see a point to redevelopment either. A TOD is not going to get people out of their cars in Erin Mills and will compete with areas that have a chance to become more walkable.
