I hope that 65 - 75 King Street East gets rejected by the city again. There is no need to destroy the interior of 3 historical buildings in that area. Doing it for such a mundane towers just makes it even worse.

Myriad | 91.6M / 300.5 FT | 27 Floors

Not exciting at all but solid infill with a half dozen retail units at ground level.

Irving Oil Corporation has announced plans for a new headquarters building in the Saint John uptown area, adjacent to King's Square.

Construction will begin this spring.

Awesome news about the new building in Saint John. Its look should mesh with the existing skyline quite well.

Here's some proposal news for Calgary and Edmonton: Brad Lamb delaying both projects in Edmonton - North and Jasper House - by at least a year, while both Calgary projects - 6th & 10th and The Orchard - are still going ahead despite the downturn.

that st john proposal is interesting. Buildings like that don't get built very often anymore....I wonder what the materials will be....that will make or break it....if it is stucco or something it will be brutal, but marble and it might be cool.

I wish the T shaped piece that makes up the central and upper massing could have been pushed back another meter and half or so (like the base is) to give it more of stepped look....like an old new York tower.

^^ I actually like the design of the Irving oil building in Saint John. The picture doesn't do it justice, but if you view the video put up by Irving Oil you'll get to see it in greater detail. Blends in nicely with the charm of Saint John.

The Arc Condo proposal is too nice for Erin Mills IMO.. the towers there now are so bland and unnatractive this tower will stick out so much. It would have been a better fit for Mississauga city centre. The one bright side, it'll hopefully promote future developments of more visually interesting projects for Erin Mills.

Wow thats great for Saint John. Nice to see something built there, and its pretty substantial for a city of its size. Hopefully it kick starts a revitalization.

The building itself would fit right into to the city, but I would prefer a blue glass box. Something to give the city a modern feel.

What a few curvy lines do to people. Arc is garbage.

Irving isn't too bad . The stepbacks could use some tweaking. The architect showed restraint though or, at least picked well out of the catalog.

Trust me, if you've seen the condos that Daniels has built in Erin Mills, you'd agree.. the Arc is Gorgeous by comparison.

I'm only aware of the new rental tower by Daniels , the senior complex by Amica and, the 8ish towerscby Pemberton Group since the late 1990s. You could be right. I don't see this as an improvement to those design wise. Obviously, the deeply set back retail is still an improvement to the gated towers in a park.

It's awful. The design in respect to its location reminds me of 2885 Bayview.

I would hope for limestone or granite - the building has a very '50s look to it, to my eye. I quite like it.
