Besides, from what i hear, some of your peeps still need to perfect their skills with them parallels
not my words, but someone who came and saw for himself. That's generally the case when an airspace, or in this case, a runway, comes to a controller and not the other way around. We have some below par peeps as well in one of our new sub-units here in YUL.

It's always the same thing. When a controller/trainee goes to an airspace, he needs proper training. When the airspace comes to the controller, 2 weeks and he should be checked-out !

Thank you, Captain Bollshoy. For starters, when did I moan and groan? Fact is, this is much, much simpler than what we did in the past, and I miss that particular complexity. This, by comparison, is a joke, and yet it's still hard enough for a few people not to get especially comfortable/good at it. As for "below par peeps", I'll diplomatically refrain from commenting... I suspect I know where you're getting your info from. Careful not to read to much into comments coming from The Gods of ATC.

Flight KE9075, eta is 1200pm to YYC.

This won't be good for YYC, during yesterday's Q2-2015 conference call, UA noted that Corporate travel associated with O&G companies has declined by 30%. This represents about half the 5.5% decline in PRASM for 2015.

Specifically UA reports weakness in DFW, ORD, and IAH. DL also reported weakness in ORD, DFW, and MCO markets.

In response to weakness associated with O&G dependent markets, UA has decreased capacity to these cities by 9% in Q3 and 8% in Q4.

Because UA is such a big player in the YYC transborder market, we can expect additional softness in monthly traffic stats for the next 6 months.

Read on airliners that BA is axing ALA (Almaty, Kazakhstan). A 767 route to an oil producing country who's economy isn't doing so good nowadays.

Can't help but compare this to BA's service to YYC. Hopefully that's where the similarities end.

737, just like everything else.

Canada is deceivingly huge! Calgary - St. John's is significantly longer than St. John's - Dublin... about 550 nautical miles, or over an hour flying time.

Interesting cargo numbers. YUL doesn't get dedicated cargo flights and yet it handles more cargo than YMX. Just goes to show all the cargo carrying capability of those passenger flights.

lol...I didn't check out the map, but yeah, I guess YYC-YYT or YYC to YHZ would be long also. I've flown those two a few times.

Just compared June 2014 and June 2015 for LHR traffic. Feel free to correct me if these numbers are wrong.

Total seats for June 2014: 32160 (BA767, AC77W)
Total PAX numbers: 27907
LF = 86.8%

Total seats for June 2015: 34716 (AC333, BA767, AC767 4x)
Total PAX numbers: 30360
LF = 87.5%

We absorbed 95.9% of the extra capacity in June. Really good sign that the market has been able to absorb the extra capacity with the economy in the current state it is.

AC852/853 service picks up quite a few connection pax from YEG, probably 25-40 pax per day on the 3 days per week it flies.
