They are now painting the base of the building white - they started with the podium under the tower on the West side and have progressed to the East. So where there was beige/cream before it is now white to pick up on the concrete mullions that come down the tower - it looks better than I thought they would do to "join" the podium with the tower. It remains to be seen what they will do with the whole front of the building - as that would need to be painted white or clad with white metal of some type (luco or otherwise). Problem with white paint - its gets dirty as we saw at ECC.

The DO was fired. If council didn't want garage suites on skinny lots, they should have have put a thou shall not regulation in the zb. Otherwise the DO has discretion to allow if the variance passes the test.
Right or wrong council approved the amendments keeping the door open

Scott Mackie is the one that needs to be fired. He is in for a rough ride though.

Expect zoning bylaws to become a lot more specific here right away.

CRHA is having an open house this weekend on a centrally located mixed market mid-rise they want ot build to replace a row of old townhouses.

Glad that we've come so far with them.. they used to be very stand off-ish when it came to approching communities. Hoping we can help steer them away from yellow and grey stucco panels!

I guess that's the Delta next to the Edmonton Tower...but from that angle it could be an overlap with EDACC Tower...and who knows how big that is at this point as they need the tenant (which I understand is er ..., the hotel and some residential/condo as stated in the RFQ that is out on the street). That could make it similar to Stantec or bigger...so Cold how is your imagination for EDACC shaping up?

I just Czeched out InHouse's vision for the Glenora Skyline property.

100X better than the original plan. I think it much better embraces the long neglected potential that that corner holds. Unfortunately, what we were shown were not actual renderings but just a vision for what they would like to see there. However, if they can stay true to what they've shown it blows the doors off of the old plan.

Do those of you who are more in the know have any opinions about these developers, and whether we can trust that what they're presenting could actually happen, and be done well?

From the looks of it their schtick is more suburban single-family housing than mid-rise or high-rise condominiums. Not sure if that instills confidence, but at least they're legit, unlike the clowns who originally started this mess.

KR glass is looking real sexy, getting excited for this development. I've heard the glass system is some sort of style never done in Edmonton before. Something about the way it is pinned to the floor when you are standing by the glass in the inside the vertical view will give the impression you are looking directly down under your feet.
