The sequence of events, with the 333 downgauge being shown so many months prior, somewhat suggests they've been planning this for a while. Maybe watching advanced bookings on 898/899 and giving it as long as possible.
Here's the proof that AC852 is stealing YEG's slot if anyone has reason not to believe it... compare the bolded times to the sked above:
