It appears that the Richmond Night Market (the one by the River Rock Casino) will still have a home for at least 3 more years:

Firework Productions Ltd. (Raymond Cheung) has applied to the City of Richmond for a
Temporary Commercial Use Permit (TCUP) renewal at 8351 River Road, Duck Island (and 841118431/8451 West Road for the purposes of operating a seasonal night market event during specified periods for 2015,2016 and 2017..... The temp permit was set to expire after this year.

That's a shame, I really wanted a Keg back. Brentwood just isn't the same and I avoid going downtown if I don't have to.

I doubt that YYoga will take the terrace space on the second floor. Too nice for a yoga studio.

Thanks!

Was out at Guildford Town Centre for biz last week, was shocked at the transformation and the amount of flagship retail they've managed to lure, Victoria's Secret, Apple, Aritzia, Boys Co., Forever 21, H&M and more, had no idea and I should have taken some photos. The finishes also look very good!! Well done Guildford, it's certainly turned the corner and is now positioned to be another major player in metro Vancouver.

With the bridge toll, people will likely stay SoF. Plus Metrotown is a zoo.

From Retail-Insider, a peek into the Calgary Nordstrom, likely a clear indictor of what the Pacific Centre store will look like. Looks far better than the boring beige-on-brown U.S. stores!

I was surprised juicy couture closed its pacific centre store (mentioned a few pages back) but they closed all their stores and i saw on TV the other day that juicy couture is now at kohls, so its gone down market, it used to be considered more high end back when it started

Juicy Couture was sold earlier this year to Authentic Brands Grp. They operate mid-range brands available in mid-range department stores like Macys and I guess Kohl's. My guess is that when Liz Claiborne unloaded the brand to them, they closed all their retail stores previous to the sale, so yes, it's now a mid-market dept. store label. I also remember hearing Kate Spade was interested in buying them but I guess that didn't happen.

Juicy Couture seems like a very dated mid-2000's brand which suited the Paris Hilton wannabe, living in Yaletown with the Yorkie in her purse and the douche-bag tattooed boyfriend during a black Range Rover.

Jimmy's shrinking and those Nordstroms are tall!

Overall looks a bit generic (i.e. standard high end minimalism), but still much nicer than the warm wood and green I associate with (older) Nordstrom stores.

Restaurant menu looks good - flatiron for $18.95 - but mind you, that's Alberta.
