From a small trinket key chain to a fully outfitted truck they sell it all. If you go to the Tulalip store, they have boats and ATV's, obviously a full selection of 🞵🞵🞵🞵 and ammunition and many other products. It is a tourist attraction and in some of the more remote stores they actually offer RV parking and have places to go and try 🞵🞵🞵🞵 and hunt.

Cabelas is essentially the Walmart of the outdoor/hunting world. The biggest reason why I think we won't see them in the lower mainland is because the real estate is too expensive and no government will play ball with them. Maybe chilliwhack or abbotsford. I could see them even going to a merrit or kamloops and making it more destination like their US stores.

Energie - Miss Sixty had closed beside Apple in Pacific Centre, anyone know if Apple is taking that space and expanding that tiny chaotic Apple Store? Seems perfect IMO.

On another note, was shopping in the new Lululemon flagship today and two wall tiles in the men's section, detached from the wall missed me by inches and smashed into many pieces, a couple of minutes later another one detached!! Seems out of synch with the intended Lulu vibe.

The tiling contractors were just employing rational selfishness. Chip Wilson would approve.

So you think cutting corners to save a few bucks in the short term at the expense of making your customers unhappy and gaining a reputation among the industry for doing shoddy work is in the rational (i.e., long-term) self-interest of a contracting business?

LOL!

It's the consistent pursuit of rational self-interest (in every endeavour) that gives rise to ever-increasing quality, performance, innovation and affordability.

Yeah that should be opening soon or is already open. They took over an old canadian tire location. I am more referring to the lower mainland area we probably won't see them.

i thought it was speculated apple was moving to a larger space in the expansion under nordstrom

i can see H&M home taking over the space there to be close to its big store when it rolls out the home concept across canada

I'd heard rumours of under Nordstrom as well but I think this upper-level location is more prestigious and closer to higher-end flagship retail as well. The rumoured location is effectively Nordstrom's basement, seems rather atypical for Apple.

The space below Nordstrom would be in addition to a potential flagship which Apple is still searching for

No landlord would want to lose Apple as a tenant, when they get a percentage of sales. I have read that this location does around 75 million in sales in a floor space of around 5,500 sq. ft. (Unless they cut a different deal). That translates to 7.5 million in rent. Apple, as I have read is going to the area under Nordstrom, but they still would like to open a "Flagship" space downtown. Finding a location is really the issue in the "Luxury Zone" of Vancouver. Options are really limited

I did hear some time that he upper mall was going to see some major changes. We have seen what is coming on the west side. Miss Sixty is just the start. Expect to see major changes on the east side from H&M right through to Holt Renfrew.

Cheers to all,
J

Thanks Jougho,

Seemed odd that there were no banners on the hoarding beside Apple, be exciting to see what's coming.

it's kind of sad to see UGG opening beside Lululemon on Robson, but I guess it is fitting, yoga wear at Lulu, fuzzy boots at UGG and outer wear at Roots

UGG completes the winter LULU-BOT wardrobe, they all wear them when it's cold.

Victoria Secret and Shopper's makeup on the other corner,

now all we need is an Apple store and a starbucks to complete the white girl corner.

Weird that there is a Starbucks a block off of Burrard/Robson from virtually each and every direction, but no Starbucks right on Burrard/Robson.
