I would be very surprised if WS went straight to the 788 or any new generation aircraft. My guess is that WS will pick up half dozen 763 or 332 used aircraft to test out the waters of TransAt service before committing to brand new aircraft.
For one, any new 788 order will be pricey aircraft as the delivery delays expenses will have not worked out of the system.
Secondly good luck getting delivery position in the next 5-7 years. The 787-10 pretty much took up all the new capacity that Boeing had available through projected production increases.
Thirdly due to shortage of delivery positions, the lease companies are going to be looking for top dollar on late model 788.
But finally, a new 788 in WS current brand scheme would have well over 300 seats considering they are likely to go the slim-line route and would not also feature the Business Class cabin. Its a tough sell to get 300 seats filled from day one.
