By all means build it, but in an unoccupied location. We need as much help as possible with the horrid empty lots, so the idea of replacing not only an existing building but actually a highrise just makes me furious.

Updated hotel/casino proposal adjacent to BC Place. Being billed as an "urban resort" to take focus away from casino component which sunk the previous proposal. The plan for this incarnation is to only transfer over the Edgewater capacity rather than expand upon it (at least until later)...

So that design is being used for Globe and Mail again now? I thought that design was cancelled or something? It was talked about on here late last year I think.

This was originally going to be the Globe's new home at Front & Spadina but was cancelled months ago due to a consortium of developers buying the property as part of a larger commercial development (details of which have yet to be revealed):

Since then the Globe has been looking for a new home. The new design is at a totally different site and was planned by the developer long before the Globe was secured as a tenant.

It's amazing they are planning something like that after the blunder of the Olympic Village. Have they sold over 70% of the units in OV yet?

Actually SEFC is likely one of the hottest communities with as many cranes on the horizon as when the village was first built.

I know that. I was asking about the Village, and why they would be planning another multi tower village plan like that if they haven't sold the village yet, and then asked if they had sold the village.

For some reason, Opsal and Central seem to be doing well though. Hopefully this plan goes through and succeeds!

It was about 90% sold as of a month or so ago...
