The similarities on what you describe as the problems with Glendale and Winnipeg are screaming at me. Currently in or near the Winnipeg SHED we have Boston Pizza, Tavern United, The Met, Elephant and Castle and soon Milestones, every one of which is a chain restaurant. In the SHED there is currently one none chain, Samurai, and one coming in the CentrePoint development. In terms of developers, we know that Longboat was behind the arena and now CentrePoint, with talk that they have secured to the two highly prized MPI lots. Finally, go by the SHED on any non-event night and take a look at the amount of activity going on there. Yes, that may change but I am sure the developer of Westgate made the same argument when pitching their SHED concept.
