WOW.....god forbid people should have a difference of opinion and not low a horn everyday.

By the way, how is a tenant moving from one building to another considered good news.....or in any way going to contribute to new product??

my comment was from a recent conversation string that started with this:

Feel the love.
i was in fact "defending" the diversity of the discussion (as opposed to defending any particular opinion). sorry if it came across out of context even with the emoticon. guess you had to read the whole exchange...

I should add: I am not sure what to think of the design. Unusual for sure - looks like all of his "stacked" condo projects (boxcar like) just a tower thats all.
These must be very small units.

Really? I watched workers all over the building this afternoon. Good progress was being made.

I hope Bulliver takes a photo from behind the Arch near McDougall Chruch - getting the arch in the foreground (through the window holes) with the BoM in the background. It is surreal to see...

I like that, kinda looks like it has a bit of a curve to it too. Certainly would stand out coming into downtown from the James MacDonald.

Very cool. Although, you think they'd take advantage of the southern/SW views and passive-solar options with windows on that side?

Yup. Gene presented it to DECL a couple of weeks ago. The parkade, as you can see, will be a 'green wall' and the north/west sides will be semi enclosed but not heated spaces for the hallways.

Some of these pods are intended to be flats, some 2 storey units.

I like it.

Not that it really matters, but I wasn't talking about ANYONE on here or in response to any post. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

If the new Dub design were catnip I'd be rolling in it.

I like it but I'd like to see more renders from other angles.

I'm sure some residents in the area are gonna try to NIMBY this.

Love the unheated spaces. And probably only lit when it's dark! Easy, smart way to be both "greener" and build it for less than conventional.

I like it too. (This is the first I've seen of it)

Could be a net gain in leaseable area. Don't know about this particular deal, but it's always a distinct possibility.

Another potential reason could be that the tenant is being squeezed out of their existing space due to the landlord wanting to accommodate other tenants in the building that want to grow into the existing space.

There. At least two reasons, and both good ones.

and maybe the tenant is consolidating space that is currently spread on three different unconnected floors to a single space while adding some internal expansion at the same time....

No one, god included (at least at this point) is preventing you from sharing your viewpoints and opinions. In fact, I would say some even welcome it. Not everyone should be a fan boi, or a booster. God forbid that some people might have an opposing view point to yours though, and might not agree, and in fact, decide to share their disagreement. Somewhere in between the two viewpoints lies the real truth of the matter.
Just because some (many) people have tuned out the usual whitenoise coming from your username is no reason to sign up for another user name to troll with... It wasn't hard to figure out Thief was another version of you... Signing up for another account just to try to elevate your established position? Pretty weak sauce bro-ski.
