I still can't believe the Telus Toll addition got passed by EDC....

"you won't be able to see it from the street" is pretty weak... and untrue... and even if it was true, you can see it from any office tower in the area....

Not sure what the condo on whyte by iron horse is now called, but it seems to be moving very fast. Ony one level below grade, and i seems to be almost done.
Edmonton might not have many towers on the go, but there is sure a lot of low rise residential infill. Three of four happening in the whyte ave area right now... For any one whos been to europe, dense resdiential lively neighbourhoods exsist without skyscrapers...I know that this website is "SKYSCRAPER page" but edmonton is getting very busy with infill...including many duplexes springing up in my neighbourhood near the university.

Exactly. We need a ton more low-rise projects in the central areas near transit and walkable areas to help rejuvenate and sustain these areas.

Still no action at the Norwood Village site, which has been fenced off for months. Several of the lots across the street are being developed though, and I heard that the old Arden Market could be redone as well

Meadowcroft Apartments in the Northwest end, up by Westmount Mall, is about to get some substantial facade upgrade. All of the exterior balconies are going to be enclosed to give more year round space per suite.

...Good God, I do not know why I even go to that site sometimes. I had to come post here where it is sane and conversation can actually be had.

how pertinent when compared with the design and financing of an arena and the potential impact in both design and financing of adding a 135' or wider pedway "with a building on top" to our urban fabric. sure the debate might be heated and emotional and sometimes display as much prejuduce and intransigence as knowledge and understanding but it also demonstrates that people care enough to have the debate and to participate in it and to hopefully further the discussion and resolution of some real issues that will last a lot longer and have a lot more impact than some penthouse cladding colour choice and pattern.

^ I agree.... while the mechanical penthouse addition on the Toll building is not the prettiest thing in the city it is relatively innocuous in the grand scheme.... and I look right at it out my office window every day.

Epcor looking great. Ken will you have some fish in you're fountain! Telus toll Mechanical...just brutal. (Cambridge building) I Love the fact that she transformed an old mechanical house into a Penthouse. But not a fan of the exterior at all.

When I see the Cambridge building I see Striped black and white suspenders with a colored checkered hat. Don't clowns where that!

Really? Interesting. I live less than a block away from this building and can see it from my living room. It'll be interesting to see it proceed.

I could really give a flying rat's ass about the Telus Toll addition myself. Ya it sucks they added crap on top of crap, but it's not a deal breaker for Edmonton's skyline. I'd rather we stop paying so much attention to this bird colored turd. I've trained my mind to not notice the whole building when I'm dt.
