It's funny they kept the French name for the US (especially in a country where "Auchan" would probably lead to the wrong pronunciation... do you pronounce it like the "ch" in church or like "sh" in sham, and what about the final n, do you pronounce it?).

The Houston store, their first in the States, opened in 1988. They added another Houston store and a smaller Chicago area store. They were all gone by the early 2000s.
People pronounced it oh-shawn or oh-shann. Since I speak French I had no problem pronouncing it correctly.
