So it appears that the east facing Scotia Tower logo is a refurbished globe logo as reported by Jollyburger last year.
The south facing and west facing logos appear to be the new 'dot' logos. Not sure of the north facing logo.
Could be that the ones replaced were too deteriorated to refurbish?

is it too much to ask to get zero tolerance for sleeping/doing drugs on the sidewalks in the area regardless, it wouldn't take much of a cleanup to make a huge difference in the area

DP coming in for 1394 Robson

https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public/Default.aspx?PossePresentation=Guest&PosseObjectId=294550762

75,000 sq feet approximate gross floor area.

Which is like triple their previous proposal for 5 stories back in 2018

That's intriguing - it was retail and office previously, but that seems unlikely to be what's planned for a building three times bigger in floorspace. Another condo building doesn't seem too likely either. Boutique hotel, maybe? Or a social housing building to substitute for the 51 social housing units that they have proposed in 1444 Alberni?

The gross floor area was from their 2025 report from last July so it might have changed but I assume they are still looking for something more than five floors. It's just listed as residential (excluding commercial/hotel)

They've referenced those figures since at least around 2021 in their reports.

1450 West Georgia Street, 1157 Burrard Street, 1640-1650 Alberni Street & 1668-
1684 Alberni Street

Seems like they all got extensions to 2028 for CAC payments etc

the last thing we should be building is social housing in some of the most expensive desirable land in the city

Right because pooling everyone together in one part of town has worked out so well.

Note social housing doesn't mean supportive housing. It can be for low income earners. I often wonder when people cheer on all the new hotels proposed for downtown where they think the people working in them are supposed to live on a housekeepers' wage.

The same developer completed 83 social housing apartments immediately across the street from this Robson Street site in 2024. They are now owned and run by The City of Vancouver. Having a mix of housing for residents with a range of incomes (or retired, or living on disability payments), is one of the better achievements of the city in recent decades.

The property next door was mentioned as a potential assembly back in 2019. And it seemed to have been part of a tax sale property in 2021.
Sold for 15.1 million
