No. I'm holding off divulging the actual tenants because I heard in confidence.

1015 Burrard - Century Plaza Hotel redevelopment.

167m Perkins & Will tower, seems to be a resubmission from a 2019 proposal that the pandemic cancelled.

Quote:
Mixed-use project including podium commercial, hotel, and residential. Possible tower height up to 167m with potential heritage retention at 1041 Comox St.

Wow this is finally going public.

The design I saw was pretty exciting but that was several years ago so covid and cost escalation have probably had their go at this design too.

Well the height is exactly the same as in 2019, could be a very similar design.

From last year..

Sounds like Andaz and another Hyatt brand at Pender and Richards.
That leaves W at Burrard.

I mean it's sort of away from all the other high end hotels but I guess in 20-30 years that area will be more built out...

Perhaps. I'll also say that the other Hyatt brand used to be a boutique brand that was acquired.

The dual branded property is finalized in terms of branding, but the other property is still up in the air

that whole area from around Graville/Nelson to Pender/Homer has a lot of potential and is already getting pretty nice, does it have a name? (it is kind of between Gastown and Yaletown). lots of hotels and residences and tons of food choices

Me too. Unless the city makes a big push to clean it up, Andaz will have some freaked out guests. This is a bad location for that brand.

I would just call that Downtown… I think they tried “Crosstown” for a while but it never caught on

Too bad the City didn’t take over The Centre theatre on Homer St when they had the chance…
