Canada is not broken. There are many countries in the world that are. That said, there are people struggling to pay for housing, to bring in a salary that covers there expenses and to get ahead. The question is who is putting forward polices that improve the lives of those who are struggling.
The conservatives believe in magic. Cut taxes and companies will hire more people and pay better salaries. Reduce standards on build a house and magically private developers will build more. Lock people addicted to drugs up and they will recover.
The reality is private industry has one job, maximizing return for shareholders. That is it. They will charge as much for new homes as the market will support. They will pay the lowest salaries they can that retains and attracts employees.
The NDP are activists. They want to see government do everything.
The Liberals are somewhere between. They want to see the private sector do its thing, but accept there are gaps where government needs to step in.
Those that are struggling to find low cost housing or who salaries are low honestly are better served by a NDP or Liberal government.
