Important to note that economic growth itself doesn't necessarily lead to a higher quality of life. There are many factors involved, especially the distribution of growth.

I've lived in both the US and Canada and from my experience, the average Canadian lives a better life than the average American. We really take for granted things like functional government, a reasonably educated populace and education costs, reasonable healthcare costs, good infrastructure, expanding public transit in our major cities, etc.

GDP per capita certainly needs to increase, however at the moment Mark Carney appears to have the better plan to actually accomplish this.

I totally agree with you. Canada always comes out on top when it comes to quality of life for the average person.
