Thanks, but I got that. So why do they specifically need to disappear from view, but others do not?

Stephen Harper puppet (and also Trump puppet) married to a communist Venezuelan puppet who will no doubt sell us out to the Venezuelans, Americans and (most worrisome of all) the Calgarians.

The alt right "everyone I don't like is a pedophile" "the world is run by a secret cabal of pedophiles" movement is a toxic movement we don't need in this country, but it's a bit rich for the person who's spent the last two years spreading racist FUD about Anaida Poilievre to be the one complaining about it.

I completely agree and obviously millions of Canadians share your sentiment.

I will add that PP and the Tories have painted themselves into this corner. While I must be fair and state that no one saw this coming, including the Liberals, they kept saying Canada needed a "Axe the Tax" election which was made more appealing because wildly disliked Trudeau was the one implementing it.

Fast forward 2 months and the tax is gone, JT has left, and Trump has come to the Liberals like a gift from the Gods so, as you stated MonctonRoad, the calculus has completely changed.

Because if we disagree with someone, their voices must not be heard. Cancel culturalists are intellectual cowards.

BTW, you're dead wrong if you think I am shilling for Poilievre.

I just think that people like you would be saying the exact same things about Carney if the colours were reversed.
Carney has 12 years of public sector - not even 50% of his career.

95% for Poilievre. Pierre wouldn't last a day in the private sector - he's worse than the public service for accomplishments and performance.

They do not represent Canada, have no elected office to be making deals and speaking for Canadians at Mar-A-Lago.

The calculus is changing daily. I wouldn't wipe Pierre off the map just yet. Everyday I go back and forth, PP is doing this right and then not doing this right. Carney's penchant towards social justice, I find worrisome but I like how he can handle Trump.

There are times I wish we could have a Liberal minority that would fall after Trump has been dealt with. Every road you take seems to have a roadblock, there's no clear sailing.

One thing is for sure, I am totally sick of left and right wing YouTube provocateurs and am invoking my own personal version of cancel culture.

Are they making deals on our behalf at Mar-A-Lago? When are these deals going to be implemented? Enquiring minds want to know.

(Note though that Danielle Smith is elected and legitimately represents the interests of Albertans more than anyone at the present time.)

Yeah well Danielle Smith views Ottawa as the larger threat than Trump and USA - so that shows you what she thinks of Canada. She's a national unity threat.

“I provided a specific list of demands the next prime minister, regardless of who that is, must address within the first six months of their term to avoid an unprecedented national unity crisis,” Smith said in a statement

I think comments are turned off because of their supporters more than anything. If they are anti Trump or pro Ukraine you see a ton of comments maybe bots but maybe not opposing what they say.

Yeah who's against social justice or equity? Openly inefficient and racist contracting and hiring policies that are the real agenda less so. But at this point any swing voters who are concerned with the runaway equity agenda have bigger issues to worry about so I don't think it's much a of a liability. Unlike US programs South and even East Asians benefit rather than suffer from most of these programs so the backlash is limited.

This is Carney's election to lose right now unless we can go on an extended break from the Trump news cycle - like at *least* two full weeks just prior to the election without any negative Trump news will be what's needed to seriously turn the tide around IMO. Now even random immigrant grandmas and grandpas that I talk to who are usually totally disassociated with much of the news cycle knows tangentially we are under some lunatic's threat from the USA, and will be voting for whoever does better to stop it.

My heavily Conservative older relatives don't think "the Conservative guy" (they don't even know Pierre's name) stands up for Canada very much - or is even doing very much at all period - and though they did stop short of declaring they'd vote for Carney just yet, are almost unanimous in saying they're just glad JT is gone. All anecdotes, sure, but the shift is reflected in the polling data.

Trump isn't going to do any more favors to Poilievre aside from a quick "I don't like that guy, he's stupid" remark. He's got more important things to worry about (besides golf). I have real doubts he can just shut up about Canada in April. I think today might be the first day in a while he hasn't mentioned 51st state sometime?

That's a rather bold statement. Let's see where things are at in four weeks or so.
