I'd like to point out that Poland officially joined the EU in 2004. Phenomenal YoY growth for most years ever since.
Soon it will be a $1 Trillion dollar economy (nominal GDP $USD) while next door Ukraine, roughly of similar population--and not a EU member, has experienced slow to anemic growth for most years by comparison
before the war and during any 5, 10, 20 year comparison one wants to make.
Warsaw has become a shining star of not just Central/Eastern Europe but Europe overall. Now that Donald Tusk is Poland's PM they've earned respect back that the PiS party leadership had eroded with Europe.
