I'm surprised that you interpret his response that way. He gets asked a tough question which he should have seen coming, and when pressed gives a condescending and snippy response: "look inside yourself" and "you start from a prior of conflict and ill will". Just because he isn't raising his voice doesn't make what he's saying any less problematic. He can answer these questions without the attitude.
Someone has to coach him up on how to handle the media. Prepare your responses and be robotic like Trudeau. It drove me crazy when he did it, but at least he always remained calm.
There is another North American politician who accuses the media of being out to get him as well. But I'm sure people don't want to hear that comparison.
