The other half was him going on and on about the carbon tax. Like someone has to get through to him that it's over, it's time to drop it. I'm starting to take it personally that he thinks that people like myself would buy into the "he's lying, trust me bro" approach here.
I think Pierre has one final shot to turn things around, but it's a bit of a hail mary. The more that Carney speaks and interacts with the media, it's clearly evident that he kind of sucks at it, and has a very short trigger. Dude was an absolute dick to Rosemary Barton today. There's something about this blind trust thing that clearly annoys Mark. Pierre would be smart to try and exploit this during a debate to see if he can get Mark to crack. I'm aware that Pierre is an absolute dick too, but I think most people already know that. If he can get Mark to explode he could come out looking good in comparison.

I'm surprised you interpret his response that way. He certainly schooled Barton, but in the calm, measured way that seems to be his baseline. I could see that he won't suffer fools gladly, but he seems to me to be a man fully in control of himself. Whether he has a nasty/angry streak, I couldn't say but we've never seen it.
