It's amazing how often this Democrat narrative is bought and sold, it's the amazon.com of propaganda

Trump never took away access to abortion he just gave the authority back to the states for them to decide so the feds had no say in the matter. Fourteen states ageed to outlaw abortion and even then women in states where it's outlawed can go to a state where it's legal and with 36 states keeping it legal it's probably going to be a state right next door. So abortion laws are entirely up to each state, Trump didn't take away anything, the federal government should never have mandated abortion from the beginning, it should have always been up to the states

By the way, i'm not saying Republicans never engage in fear-mongering or propaganda because they do, it's just that this issue is the best example of bullsit in politics out there

Oh lord, just when I thought we'd seen this picture for the last time.

Pretty remarkable to see this type of dramatic shift in polling. I think there's two or three inflection points involved here:

The PM announces his resignation, Trump tweets about Canada becoming the 51st state, and Carney's political debut on The Daily Show.

📈 📉

It's going to be one interesting election.

Let's hope Trump keeps on tweeting.

PS. Q: What's the difference between a Canadian and an American??

And let's hope PP ads keep on coming on before videos about Donald Trump.

PS: good one.

Some Americans would get it.

Yes, he seems like an amiable and likeable kind of guy but anybody could do that when all they have said is that they would "stand up for Canada". It's quite surreal how much the man can talk without saying a word. When he actually realizes that he has to come up with policies to defend, being Mr. Nice Guy isn't so easy. It maybe smart politics right now to say as little as humanely possible so he can cruze into winning the leadership review. It gives Freeland and PP little to attack which is maybe why the Tories keep up with the carbon tax rhetoric...................how do you attack a person's policies when you have no idea what they are?

Everyone loves a newborn.......until they start talking.

And what about those people that can not afford to go to another state? A lot of people have lost access to abortion, and general women's services. Because of how regressive many states have become towards women's rights you have doctors leaving those states or refusing to move to those states.

How can you say that Trump isn't taking away a woman's right to choose when he literally appointed people that were known to be anti-abortion on the USSC. The three appointees lied when they said it was settled law, and we all know that they were lying.

Trump removes federal authority, knowing full well that there were multiple Republican states ready and waiting to outlaw it, and you still try to spin it that he "never took away access"?

Except for the counties (such as in Texas) that are trying to block travellers by making it illegal to pass through their county on the way to receiving abortion services elsewhere.

Canada 338 just did an update for predicted number of seats for each party when averaging recent polls:

CPC: 177

LPC: 120

BQ: 33

NDP: 11

GPC: 2

Source: https://338canada.com/

Now it's just a slim majority for the CPC.

The feds should never have been involved in any laws about abortion. Regardless, nothing you guys said contradicted what I said nor did either of you address the bullshit the Democrats have been peddling about this issue the whole time, something the media was all too happy to help them with. You could always just not get pregnant too, that's an option

Anyway, back to Canadian division and bickering

A fifteen year old who made a bad decision shouldn’t have to leave their state to get healthcare. Trying to justify that is kinda gross.

TRUMP DID THAT.

Listened to that cross country checkup episode, what a joke.

Takeaway…

Americans don’t really care about what trump said and most aren’t even thinking about his comments on Canada.

Canadians can’t get enough, just keep fanning them flames.

The difference it clear...

Canadians understand the threat, Trump will push us into a severe recession causing significant job loss across the country. All in an attempt to force us to be some colony of the US. He may say 51-state but lets face reality, there is no way he would want us to be able to vote for the US president, senate or house.

Americans are heading into a recession caused by a massive reversal of federal government grants and employment. Tariffs will make it worse. Their social safety net is about to be weakened. Canada is a minor issue to them given what they face. Some see it, many still don't get it.

It is clear the US will be a dumpster fire that will take a decade if not longer to put out. Once we are going to have to work hard to mitigate. Under no situation do we want to join them.

What is sad and disappointing is it did not have to be this way. The US economy was recovering. They were making progress on historical injustices and inclusion. They were making progress on the environment and infrastructure. That is all out the window now.

I think a lot of American's are still in denial about what the Puppet Felon is doing and especially with his Stinky Puppetmaster. There's a lot of talk (and fight back from those in the know) but many are still thinking things are going as normal and the Felon's just doing his usual blustering without any actions.

The impacts of his insanity are starting to take hold, unemployment going up, funding getting cut off, inflation climbing and businesses are reacting to all the tariffs talks, so it is starting to sink in. It'll probably take a few more weeks/months to fully take hold though.

Americans are behaving a lot like the Russians we see in videos from the front in Ukraine. Lots of "Good Tsar, bad Boyars," type of appeals. Trump voters who got laid off are starting their appeals with "I voted for Trump," or "I still support Trump." Same shit as the Russians, "If only the Tsar knew...."

We need to understand and accept that the US is gone. This behaviour will not get better. They will never improve. At least not in our lifetimes.

I used to be more hopeful. Watching them behave exactly like dumbass Russians has changed my mind.

We need to start with the assumption that they will not improve and work from there. To that end, I want to see what plans candidates that improve our national independence.

Well, the evidence is already coming in that states that have banned abortions are seeing a surge in infant mortality rates:

https://www.livescience.com/health/ferti...ven-a-surge-in-infant-deaths-study-finds

As for access - there is a huge swath of the US where there is no access to abortion at all. Maybe it's not so bad if you are in Iowa, perhaps, but it's pretty terrible if you are in somewhere like Louisiana.

Last week he started with reshaping leadership in the military. The FBI, CIA is well underway. He is systematically dismantling any "fact base" advisory capacity in the government. He wants any independent investigative and oversight dismantled. He wants any tax system dismantled. Rebuilding all of that is going to take years.

Some former democratic analyst was in the media this morning predicting a complete collapse of the Republicans within 30 days. By that he means they will lose the party discipline they need to get anything passed in the senate or house including the budget. Republicans apparently were off last week and went to their constituencies to discover their voters are not happy.

The damage is done. They are going to hit a state of gridlock. I would not be surprised if it result is the states pickup up the pieces and the US federal government becoming an ineffective layer that does almost nothing in the US.

We need to back away from the US as quickly as possible before it gets worse.

I’m sorry… but if any of the main polling firms were to seriously ask Canadians who they’d thought was the “bigger baby” between Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney, I think we all know who’d be leading that poll, and it’s not the candidate with the strongest economic resume for PM in the modern history of Canada.
