I was in Salt Lake City for business a few weeks ago and had a little time for sight-seeing. A few impressions - while SLC isn't uber urban and dense it does have its own vibe and in many ways seems headed in the right direction. Loved the terrain around the Capital and up into the Avenues. I was less impressed by the size of the blocks (My hotel was around 500 south and I intended to walk and use the light rail but found myself just driving quite often). I had a great time and hope to return in the future once some of the omni-present construction is finished.
The SLC Library and environs
Some neon I shot near the Library
Temple Square
The Joseph Smith Memorial Building One of SLC's highlights and a personal favorite.
Downtown Area
The Capitol Theatre As you will see I was smitten with this building. Took a ton of photos.
Liberty Park Loved this park - Urban, multi-use, best park in SLC in IMO.
Capitol and surroundings I prefer my Capitols in a more urban setting, but this building is gorgeous.
Guvnah's Mansion and hood
East of Downtown and the Avenues
Park City and yada, yada. I went to Park City and drove over Guardsmans Pass back into Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.
