I recently was in DC very briefly - less than 36 hours total - however I did get around some. Stayed by GW University and loved it. DC is a top five US city- urban, transit/ped friendly, and vibrant. This was my second time in town and I'll need to return when I have more time. I spent alot of my time in the various museums so I didn't get as many photos of the city as I had hoped.

Fantastic pics! I really enjoyed your photo tour. If everything goes as planned, I am going to go visit a good friend of mine in the Virginia burbs in the next couple of years or so and I definitely look forward to touring this great city in person for the first time!

Thanks Cirrus - Got a little turned around and wasn't really sure. So does the Old Executive Office Building front Pennsylvania on the opposite side of this photo?
Well, you're not wrong. Technically the building is named the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (even though it was built long before Eisenhower was Prez)... but nobody ever calls it that. If you walked up to someone on the street in DC asked where the "Eisenhower Building" is located, you'd get a blank stare. Ask about the Old Exec Office Building, though, and anyone could tell you where it was.
This may sound stupid since we're talking about the capital of the nation, but I think Washington DC is one of the most underrated cities in the country.
