As Salt Lake City's green mayor keeps going to Washington, it appears worth his while: He's carting home Washington green.
Fresh off his fourth visit with the Obama administration, Mayor Ralph Becker seems to have successfully snatched a meaningful portion of the federal government's $787 billion stimulus package...
... Inside City Hall, operatives privately wonder how Becker made the short list of mayors invited to the White House -- though no one in the mayor's camp is complaining.
Simon says Becker's resume says it all.
"They look at him as a triple or quadruple threat," he explains, pointing out Becker is a big-city mayor, has experience as a legislator, holds expertise in urban planning, and oozes environmental credentials. "He's got a lifetime of relevant experience in terms of urban affairs."
