Oh my, flar. Truly outstanding work. The ultra wides are a nice addition to your work (I saw in Gen. Photography you bought a Tokina I believe). People say your Ottawa stuff isn't up to the quality of the Hamilton stuff, but this is just awesome and just as, if not better quality than your Hamilton stuff. Of course, this may be because you've gotten new lenses and whatnot since you started your Ottawa threads, but still. http://segaert.zenfolio.com/img/s6/v6/p799078566-5.jpg That one really stands out strikingly.

Excellent set. The wide angle matches your style perfectly. Nice purchase!

Snow really suits Ottawa. Few cities can make that claim.

No way. No doubt his Ottawa shots and well-composed are thought-out, but Flar in Hamilton was just plain legendary and prolific.

Great pictures! I was looking for some hidden word in your title, with the one lowercase letter and bad spelling, but saw where it came from eventually.

I like that picture of the people skating on the canal. I bet that that canal would make a great pond hockey site, since you could keep the puck from straying off to the side. It would be even cooler to have some type of real hockey game there, like a Winter Classic, like what hockey really was like back in the past on a real body of water.

The wooden rowhouses in #38 are interesting. Are they rare in Ottawa? I would think that there aren't many at all. A few cities on the East Coast have them, like New Castle, Annapolis, and Alexandria, but many other cities with very long pasts don't have them anymore. I don't really see many in my limited travels in Philadelphia, for example. Wilmington has only a few left (which I plan on showcasing some time in the future in a thread).

What type of squirrel is that in #48? It looks like a cross between a squirrel and a chipmunk.

I think given the opportunity with his new equipment, he would do a better set of Hamilton photos than Ottawa, as flar seems more "in his element" there than in Ottawa. His Hamilton shots are fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the new abilities he has with his new equipment make his latest few threads of Ottawa work stand out more. At least to me...

Excellent set Flar, really enjoyed it. Are there more to come, specifically residential?

These are all beautiful shots. I like the ice skating shot in particular... gives the city a more communal vibe.

Amazing - love the way you've caught the perspective on these buildings - especially the strip lights on the one on the right.

You and Ottawa make winter look like fun.

Went to Winterlude a couple years ago and had a blast.

Pic#63- That egg/blimp is a great addition. Something different was needed there.

The Rideau Canal is one of North America's truly special outdoor urban spaces in the winter. I hope to skate on it one day.

Another very strong set.
