Well 1. the comment was made partially in jest, not entirely serious and 2. it was in response to rbt saying on the outside people want stone/brick buildings but on the inside they want big windows and a lot of light. You know, something the Studio Building is and provides.

Christ.

It's the internet. Sarcasm is hard to detect. And, yet, you're still defending a building that has no relevance in modern high rise floor plans. There's thousands of structures that fit the Studio Building bill. How to translate what they offer into high rise design and convince developers it's the right direction is the monumental challenge.

You strike me as someone with little to no sense of humour. Actually you kind of sound like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory.

I would be indeed... best I have seen and used is R7.4 using a four element window. Typically we see R2-4 at best.

We partnered to develop a composite curtain wall system (http://glascurtain.ca) that helps from a thermal bridging standpoint, but glazing/spandrel is still the worst part of the building from a insulation efficiency respect.

Concur.

No pic today but the entire site of Telus Sky is now a couple of feet down, the western side of the site is almost two floors down. This thing is moving quick!

Thanks for your opinion but, you clearly have no clue on what is actually going on. Go find some ugly building you can swoon over.

Seeing Telus Sky begin excavation reminds me that we should have starting action for Eau du Soliel (216 meters) sometime this month or next.

One Bloor looks to have about 25 floors remaining.

Rough guess, but perhaps it will top out at the end of the year.

Nice photo of One Bloor Cal. ^ looks rather menacing seeing all those unclad balconies. The waves look good though.

Looks like Telus Sky is going to end up rising way before Vancouver House. The Vancouver House site is larger and extremely awkward being situated on a slope beneath the viaducts of the Granville Bridge. Site clearing is still ongoing. Telus Sky excavation looks straight forward by comparison.
