By me
You know why this one would be shorter? Because materials are gorgeous and expensive.
It's the same all over our civilized world. I think even in NYC, this thing couldn't really be any taller.
It's the recladding and expansion of an existing tower at the University of Calgary built in the 60s. It was stripped down to its superstructure, 3 floors were added, and then it was reclad.

Yes. MAA condos, 1000 de la Montagne, Solstice, among others.

Give me a list of names that doesn't include "among others". I'll search them up on mtlurb

Hmm. 24 proposals currently in the database. I'll take a look at any proposals over 25 floors. Will add anything over 30 storeys.

The Jade, Halifax. The empty lot across the street is the site for Skye, another highrise development expected to start in 2021.

Some Halifax construction sites from the recent streetview update (from last summer).

Curve and Pavilion

South Park Lofts, barely visible in the last picture. I like how this one is on a narrow lot.

The Jade, looking down Sackville Street. The Roy is on the right and then in the background is the Maple, completed a few years ago.

Lower Water Street with Queen's Marque

Another angle showing how Queen's Marque fits into the area. It's mostly clad in sandstone, but a lot of the cladding wasn't on in the summer.

Clyde and Birmingham

Hollis. Not a ton of construction visible here except for Flynn Flats on the left (blue glass upper floors and porcelain lower tiles). There's another midrise masonry type building going up next door and there are some nice heritage houses along this stretch so it'll be interesting to see the streetscape evolve.

Work has started for this project of 12 floors in Québec City (St Roch district)

The site on google maps :

https://www.google.com/maps/@46.8161982,..._6i1NAeX3rksDwGZgjhXw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@46.815561,-...zfvzeDQhfCOsyuLtPLVAQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

I think it's a good density for this area.

2014 vs 2019 view looking northwest from MetroPark in Halifax. The projects that happened:

- Nova Centre, the pointy blue glass tower
- TD building (in the background on the right)
- Jade and Green Lantern building developments (concrete construction in foreground, will end up looking like two separate buildings)
- Roy (black tower across from Jade with a stone and brick base)
- NFB building redevelopment (appears here as a small addition clad in blue material above an old brick building)
- Grafton and Sackville development (has unfortunate bright red cladding where it butts up against neighbouring lots; no windows allowed without setbacks for fire code reasons)
