The tower looks much more like the original Stationlands Tower A renderings. I never thought the tower would turn out like the original rendering, but I'll take the Stationlands design over the first Epcor tower one.

Lower down it looks better, but the upper half looks a little too boxy now. Plus the balconies looked much more integrated in the earlier concept and now look a bit tacked on. Any other views available?

I like it, a much 'cleaner' design, less 'noisey'. This building has jumped up a point to an 8.

Pretty decent burger (I didn't get the 2 1/2# one though), and definitely a unique experience.

Great burgers, Have only been a few times since they moved from St Albert Trail.

Only other place for Burgers is Millets Burger Barn

I vaguely remember when I was a kid in the 80s the Motoraunt being on Jasper Ave approximately where Joey's is. Am I dreaming?

SWEET! But I can't tell if the turrets have now been eliminated or if they're just harder to see in the new rendering. Do tell. Also, regarding someone's previous post, why the hell is that "eyesore" next to the CN parking lot still there? Can't someone do anything about that?

^Qualico or someone offered to demolish it but the owners didn't want to, if you're referring to the building by the CN Parking lot I think.

again, i think that's just the "scale" (and perhaps the view) because you don't see their size or the building articulation around them... to try and give you some of that scale, those balconies are each about 300 sf in area. they're a full 30' wide and they aren't "tacked on" even though the rendering might "read" that way. on the west end, they are recessed "into" the tower about 4' from the adjacent curtain wall and on the east end they are almost "flush" with the outside face of the adjacent curtain wall. that kind of articulation (4' "in" and then 10' back "out") is typical for all of the elevations of the building - what looks like "flat" faces of curtain wall in the rendering actually have a maximum of 60' out of an overall length of more than 250' in a single plane. on the south and north faces there are actually 8 vertical distinct planes with a full 20' between the "innermost" one and the "outside" one.

I'm loving how the new render of the Epcor Tower looks. IMO, now in terms of pure asthetics, It's the 2nd or 3rd nicest office tower being built in AB right now (Behind the Bow and maybe EAP)

I used to work at Stantec in Abbotsford and Vancouver but I've always been amazed every time I made trips to Edmonton office last year working on a UofA project. I couldn't imagine working in an office with 1200+ employees though. Apparently some of their admin departments are located in CN Tower or somewhere around there with a regular shuttle service between the two offices. Just crazy though. They probably only need 24 storeys considerring 50 employees per 10,000 sq ft floor plate but they probably want lots of room to expand in the future at the same time, afterall they are the Microsoft of Consulting Engineers (which is why I left them).

Love the new rendering of Epcor Tower! Thanks Ken, I hope soon we can see additional angles and close-ups.
This building is indeed turning out to be the finest skyscraper in the city (as expected being the newest by far).
Is the height still going to be 450'?

Sounds like a great addition to this area, I hope the neighborhood supports it well.

109 St. has picked up a fair bit of steam since the rathole was dismantled, but still needs more active businesses to really make a go of it.
