I suspect they will actively modulate the progress of the TBMs to avoid having that happen just because it would complicate things to have them both in the same station pit at the same time because there would be no space for anything else in the pit.

There's a few break throughs that happened at the same time not sure how common it is for them to be in the same station pit at the same time.

Toronto

In November 2011, Yorkie began the first northern tunnel drive from a launch shaft near the future Pioneer Village Station and broke through at the extraction shaft on Keele Street at Murray Ross Parkway — north of Finch West Station — on November 29, 2012, after placing 1,110 rings. Torkie began tunnelling in February 2012 and also broke through at the extraction shaft on November 29, after placing 1,119 rings. This made project history as the first double-TBM breakthrough, a rare occurrence in North America. Yorkie and Torkie completed 1.7 kilometres (1.05 miles) of twin tunnels on these two drives. Did you notice that all the "planning" , detailed and otherwise will be finished in about two to three months.

Dear me, whatever are all those planners going to do? It is three years until the builder will have the line finished.

I know this is thread that might be better off being put on the Metro discussion but still, great image to start us off.

I hope that somehow find some efficiencies to pull it back into 2025 so I can think in my mind "only two more years to go" even though that would be all of 23, 24 and 25. So really three years. Two years just sounds better.

Also some quick estimating "half way" between Emily Carr Station and Main Street station is very roughly Dude Chilling Park / 8th and Brunswick, I would say.

Broadway City Hall Station excavation at the east side is mostly completed with concrete in progress well. The west side still is under excavation as mentioned on the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5wHk0nTl7I&list=PL3ds3GlHtgFpgxdPAZXWsNaRgoY4x3MTE&index=28 as of January 2, 2023 I posted.

I think they are building a bus stop in front of Broadway City Hall. If so, that is great. Having to walk a block west to catch the eastbound 99 is a drag.

Yup, too bad it's taken so long with the sewer work. The bridge deck itself was ready back in August.

South Granville Station:


At the start of 2022, shallow excavation was underway on Broadway at the future South Granville Station block.
Now, this traffic deck is complete, & excavation for the #BroadwaySubwayProject continues about 10 metres under the street while people move above!

Arbutus Station:


Back in January 2022, crews were just beginning to drill and excavate for the traffic deck at the Arbutus Station block.
Today, the traffic deck is nearly complete, with 4 lanes of traffic moving on Broadway. Once completed, work on the station can continue below the street!

Does anyone know why all of the CoV traffic cams (where the stations are located) have been disabled? the Contractor does not have construction cams and the amount of viewable progress online is disappointing for a project of this scope.

Seems like it's system maintenance because a large number of cameras are offline including ones not near any construction sites.

Update: At Broadway City Hall Station, they have the crane at the site. They also did some pedestrian pattern change as well.

At Oak-VGH Station, they have the pedestrian bridge opened for eastbound pedestrian traffic for direct access through to business and other areas.

The traffic deck will be fully complete once additional panels are installed to allow the eastbound bus stop to be relocated in front of the Broadway-City Hall Station entrance.

I thought Phyllis had already launched and was proceeding to Main Street.

How here I see an image where the tail end of Phyllis was still being assembled.

I have to ask, "which is it"?

Is Phyllis moving or is it just "trembling in place"?

The tail is probably longer than the pit so as it starts the bore they keep on adding components.
