I think they then need to dig up the northern most lanes and replace the section there.

We've already got U-Passes for most of the former (as long as you're with a public institute like UBC/SFU/Langara and not a dubious for-profit one). K-7 passengers ride free.

Looks like the hole at Cambie is completely filled and workers are shovelling snow out from the closed lanes on Broadway. I don’t want to jinx it but it looks like this section is finally done.

There we go, Broadway will be back to 4 lanes at Cambie over the weekend. They say that will last for 2 weeks, after that who knows. Either it goes up to the final 4+left turn (and bus stops outside of the station?) or drops a lane or two, I still think they need to do sewer work on the north side of Broadway.

Quote:
Crews will work one night this weekend from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. the following morning.

Once the new traffic conditions are implemented, W. Broadway will have two eastbound and two westbound lanes through the intersection at Cambie, with all traffic shifted to the south side of the road. These traffic conditions will be in place for approximately two weeks.

Seems like they'll have room for the two east bound lanes along with that bus pull off area. Maybe the north work will not require as much space?

Seems like they've already paved it. Just a bit of cleanup required.

will not be fun going to the LD there for the next few months .... that intersection is a mess from a pedestrian standpoint (let alone car)

Because of the short length the elevated guideway is being built from multiple I-beams instead of a single post-tensioned box girder so the columns need to support the entire width. Also, they are fairly short compared to the rest of the system so they look wider I guess.

The finished guideway will look something like this:

That's behind the Centre for Digital Media buildings, it's extra wide there because it's next to the switch so there's a large gap between the tracks there.

Half way through this video there's a better animation of what it will look like 1:42
