Really wish Surrey developers would build one tower per development. Every block is going to have 2, 3 or 4 identical towers. Like the King George Hub and Park Place. That whole area is one giant copy and paste. Then across the street you have Holland Park and up a block, Georgetown.

That's not true. King George Station has 3 different styles of high rise around it and more to come. Georgetown, as current renderings put it, is more a consequence of 1 developer owning such a huge parcel of land. But architecture is always up for change over a decade plus long buildout. Regardless, cookie cutter projects happens every where.

Ok but we have the wave (2) infinity and park place (3) Park Avenue (2) Park George (2) Hub (2) University district (2) City Pointe (2) the Holland (2) BluSky (2) District NW by Thind (2) Holland Parkside (2)… all towers that are or are going to look pretty darn identical to their neighbour. I’m sure I’m leaving some out too

Thats true, but for a developer to pay for a new design, re-engineered drawings etc, it doesnt really make a lot of sense. Unless the market where the building is being built is willing to pay the prices reflecting this. Surrey is already getting expensive as it is. I doubt the majority of the people here including myself would be willing to pay even more just to have a building that looks unique.

You’re right. Just a shame is all. And it’s not exclusive to just Surrey either. Literally happening in every lower mainland city, excluding Vancouver to an extent.

One the flip side, I really do like the design of the 3-in-1 tower going up near Gateway Station. The name eludes me, but it's got a nicely rounded design.

I'm kind of disappointed with the heights to be honest. You'd think Metro Vancouver's second most populous city could do better than plateauing at the same heights as Coquitlam, a city with just over a quarter the population.
