Good news indeed!

I hope the Federal Government will fund a large addition required to transform the RCMP Heritage Centre into the RCMP National Museum, along with annual funds in perpetuity to operate the museum.

The RCMP Heritage Centre will become only the third National Museum to be located outside of the National Capital Region, the others being Winnipeg's Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and Halifax's Canadian Museum of Immigration.

I admit though, that I have only visited the RCMP Heritage Centre once since it opened.

It will be a benefit for the Regina area destinations list to have the “national museum” title upgrade. I also agree in the hope for a major addition.

Wow, big news indeed! As a "National Museum," it will join an impressive roster that includes the Canadian Museum of History (Ottawa), the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (Winnipeg).

It's funny to read that - I obviously was not as concerned with grammar and typos as I am today. But it's interesting to see what projects we were talking about in 2006.

Also, driving by the Elphinstone and 13th condo/retail development and I can't say I'm a fan of the stucco. I was hoping for a brick exterior that would be better suited to that location and it just looks "blah" with the taupe stucco. Even the Sobey's liquor is doing a nice brick on their 13th Ave location.

I'll try and snag some photos this week as I'm driving around at work.

I saw that choice of stucco as well. There have been several condos in Regina that had that stucco crack because of the shifting ground clay in Regina. Some have even ripped the stucco down and put up brick or fake wood siding after a few years of the cracking stucco.
