Thrilled that they're making a pathway along Pasqua from Parliament to Hill Ave. Just wish it'd go further North.

Agreed.

I'm most impressed by the multi-use pathway described as:

"Brinkworth Park from 13th Avenue and York Street to 14th Avenue and Edward Street"

Will that go under Lewvan then? This will be a great addition to the pathway system.

I'm a little confused about that one. The pathway basically already exists. Is it more in the order of an improvement to the current one that already goes under Lewvan?

It does, if you follow the Devonian south all the way around under Lewvan and Pasqua into Les Sherman. Interestingly, 14th and Edward intersection is specifically mentioned and I don't recall or see on satellite imagery any path at or near that intersection currently.

There's a new Tim Horton's going up on the NW corner of Albert and 7th. While I don't really like Tim's, it's good to see something going up on that lot, considering I thought it was destined to be a weed-filled dirt lot for the foreseeable future. I'm guessing it will have a drive-thru and the one at Albert and 4th will close.

Also, driving by the Elphinstone and 13th condo/retail development and I can't say I'm a fan of the stucco. I was hoping for a brick exterior that would be better suited to that location and it just looks "blah" with the taupe stucco. Even the Sobey's liquor is doing a nice brick on their 13th Ave location.

I'll try and snag some photos this week as I'm driving around at work.

It wasn't empty long. I believe the strip mall was demo'd in 2018. Tim's is unlikely to take the whole site though.

Why are they building another Tim's in that area? There's already one on the NW corner of Albert and 4th.

As I previously mentioned, they will likely close that location. It hasn't been updated like the rest of the locations and with no drive-thru, it seems like a no brainer to shutter that location.

Yeah, it was demo'd in 2018 but was a mostly-vacant eyesore for years before that.

They have the footings for the building near the rear (west) of the lot, so it's hard to say what the layout will be. The footings/pilings don't seem to take up that much square footage, so maybe it'll be a pick-up/drive-thru only location.

Seeing as I work right by there, I can imagine many of my co-workers enjoying that "local" Tim's.

Safeway Cathedral is my grocery store. I agree, the original design was great, but what they replaced it with fits in nicely with the neighbourhood, IMO. It's what's inside that counts.
I think Sobeys Liquor will look okay as well
