The height is up to the max allowed, limited by the QE viewcone . It would have been nice to see a couple more floors, its unfortunate that we're excluding dozens of people from having affordable places to live to protect a few mm of a view .

Haha agreed on the Teal. We'll see how both of these buildings age from here.

Moderate Income Rental Homes Hope To Prove Good Things Arrive In Threes At East Van SkyTrain Station

2406-2484 Renfrew Street
As I just passed a challenging part in Dragon Quest 11, I would have preferred a few more days away from City Duo, but an email from a long-term fan put an end to that aspiration. Frankly, there’s few things that Hannah and I find more exciting than a pre-application event notice, though she was pretty psyched about finishing Apotheon. So I volunteered to write this post, only to find out it would take longer than I first thought.

That’s been the case for more than a few moderate income rental buildings, as only ten of the over fifty originally submitted have managed to secure council’s approval. It’s likely no coincidence that this one is proposed near two that were so well received that they actually were permitted two more floors than they originally sought. That pair might be slightly closer to the Renfrew SkyTrain Station, but the intersection of Broadway and Renfrew allows for a more ambitious vision.

I wonder if the sun shades will be enlarged (ie the existing visible parts are just mounting brackets) ?

Thanks.
The yellow section reminds me of a high school or university building.

CIBT Provides Update on GEC King Edward Project
January 5, 2021
Vancouver, B.C., January 5th, 2021 – CIBT Education Group Inc. (TSX: MBA, OTCQX International: MBAIF) (“CIBT” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide an update on the GEC King Edward® project (the “Project”). In October 2017, GEC King Edward Limited Partnership acquired three parcels of land to develop student-centric rental apartments to be combined with allocated floors for Vancouver’s burgeoning corporate housing sector. The Project received rezoning approval on January 21, 2020 and the development permit on September 9, 2020. On October 16, 2020, the Project received both the building permit (stage 1) and construction financing approval. As a result, the demolition and pre-construction works are well underway, which will then be followed by construction works. The construction period will be approximately 18 months, slated for a mid-2022 completion.

“The Project has been progressing on schedule and we are pleased that the construction of new rental apartments will commence soon,” commented Toby Chu, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of CIBT. “Due to the centralized location of this project and its proximity to the SkyTrain station, we will be adding a corporate housing component to this project by collaborating with global technology companies that either have a significant presence in Metro Vancouver or are looking to expand to the city. In 2021, we hope to continue rapidly developing our real estate segment in order to grow our tenant base and add more value to our rental-housing portfolio.”

The yellow is appalling to me, it should have been grey to match the other sections. It totally looks like a school with that. It is colour for the sake of colour, not design inspired or anything

Vancouver market first to catch this new proposal on SW Marine:

two towers of 28 and 32storeys (88m and 102m) on the old Denny's site. Nearly 7 FSR and all rental, more or less perfect from a density and use standpoint as far as I'm concerned.

Nice, although the back (south side) of the towers are brown.
Why not a consistent treatment all around?

Seems to be a bit at odds with the stepping down of towers from the Cambie intersection:

Thanks!
Looks like the red cladding will unify the facade nicely.
