Two more Mount Pleasant industrial/office buildings have started construction. 150 W4th is one of the largest sites developed in the area, and Focal, on East 3rd is on a site of only 6,000 sq. ft.

Thanks for the update and renders. I noticed 150 West 4th doesn't appear to be going very deep. One level of underground parking, or maybe even none?

It's a little overwhelming the amount of construction and looming demolition/construction in Mount Pleasant Industrial area.

The transportation strategy seems to have stalled, unfortunately.

I hope they can complete those tactical changes along Ontario before the year's end. Still a bit of viable construction season left!

The only thing I'm aware of is Ontario and 16th improvements. That intersection is a total mess for everybody.

There are a couple of traffic calming measures planned for 2nd-Broadway, as well as some vague plans for additional measures from Broadway to 12th. The 16th Ave rebuild is here too:

There was a planned approach to temporarily close Ontario between 5th Ave and 4th Ave but I sense that won't happen. The idea maybe was more on the line of the City's temp patio pop ups and improved bike infrastructure for COVID, so maybe next Spring.

Yrah, looks like ne more to get to 8 floors.
You can see it driving south over the Cambie bridge now.
There are some strange angled columns on the north side.

I wonder if that liquor stores days are numbered. Seems like a waste of space now.

First thing I thought too. This new building really highlights how underutilized that space is.

Have they been closing the road for previous pours? Just noticed it when scanning the road closure page. Maybe it's the roof for the 7th floor? I think they are topping out.

You wouldn't see much replacing it. The site is quite narrow.

Huh? Lots of things can go on this lot. Way larger than that new tower proposal on Granville For example

Yeah, that whole frontage of retail on Cambie isn't very deep (wonder if a wide sidewalk would be required)
and is limited by that City Hall view cone, so even if the properties were consolidated, I don't think you'd be able to built very dense.
Any new retail would probbaly be smaller units like under typical condos, so not an improvement on the existing retail.

Looking at the view cone, you can actually build a bit taller than The Rise across Cambie, which is surprising,
and even a bit taller to the west on the alley side of the sites.

You can also see how the view cones have limited the height of 510 West Broadway,
as it appears to come right up to view cone 9.2.
